Smile! It's the Joker Teaser Trailer

The Joker teaser trailer has arrived fresh from Gotham. The highly anticipated film, from director Todd Phillips (The Hangover trilogy) will see renowned actor Joaquin Phoenix play the titular role.

The film has also bagged acting royalty with Robert De Niro set to play Murray Franklin, a talk show host that plays a part in the Joker's origins.

Whilst the film is standalone, acting as an Elseworlds tale for those familiar with DC Comics' publishing imprints, it is DC's first strike back after a tough year with their shared universe failing to capture the imagination.

Joker is set for release October 4th 2019.
